After three months of construction, the Duluth Green Mill will be re-opening on Tuesday, April 9. The restaurant, located at 340 South Lake Avenue in Canal Park, first opened in 1995.
“The overall goals were to give the restaurant a fresh, new look, create open sightlines and modernize the space,” Paul Dzubnar, CEO of Hightop Hospitality and franchisor of Green Mill, said. “What didn’t change is we still serve the same award-winning Green Mill pizza, pasta, beer and wings.”
Rich Siegert, who has owned and operated the Bemidji Green Mill since 2004, is now the owner of the Duluth location. Throughout the restaurant and in the dining areas, the space has a completely new look, brought to life by way of lighter walls, ceiling and floor colors, along with the addition of a vintage-pizza-peel art on the main wall. An important aspect to any restaurant is the bar, and the entire bar was replaced in the Duluth restaurant, and it now also features twenty-four taps, offering a generous selection of domestic and craft beers.
All new tables, chairs and TVs helped complete the remodel as well as updates to the semi-private Bulldog Room and the bathrooms. In addition to the features above, mosaic tile patterns were used throughout to bring visual interest to the space, and fun art moments were incorporated to underscore the history of the Green Mill brand.
“We can’t wait for the guests who have supported us for so many years to see our new look,” Dzubnar added. “They are not going to believe their eyes once they step inside.”
