President elect Trump continues to build his cabinet and staff. On Wednesday he announced the appointment of Representative Matt Gaetz as Attorney General. The Florida Congressman has been the subject of investigations into allegations he engaged in sex trafficking, sexual misconduct and drug use. Gaetz has resigned from Congress, basically ending those investigations. However, the appointment basically places someone with questionable character in charge of the Department of Justice. And, it looks like the Trump administration will control both houses of Congress and will likely dispense with the normal confirmation hearings. Rumors have begun spreading that there are GOP Senate members who are alarmed by Gaetz’s appointment.
