Rollie (DJ Rollie D)

Rollie Dethloff was born in Duluth in September of 1997, and hasn't been able to stop talking ever since! Having fostered a love for both radio and public address announcing at a young age, Rollie has taken his love for music and entertaining listeners down many different paths, including announcing starting lineups at high school sporting events, hosting shows on Minnesota's well known rural public radio station KAXE/KBXE, and creating "Untitled" which ran from 2017-2021 on KRFF Radio Free Fargo in the Fargo-Moorhead Metro. While there were many other journeys and/or side quests over the 2016-21 time frame, these were some of the big moments for Rollie as he continued his college education.
In 2021 after many years of hard work and receiving several awards, Rollie returned back to the Northland and began working in the Hibbing radio market, where he's been ever since. He currently hosts several different on-air shifts across two stations, and is a program director for a few of the stations. He looks forward to being on the air with Superior Sounds Radio, showcasing his love for the Alternative and Indie genres, while also introducing you to talented Homegrown artists from Duluth and beyond, and helping you find new favorites by your favorite artists, a key part of his radio presentation philosophy.
Some of Rollie's favorite artists you will hear on Superior Sounds Radio include Bob Dylan, The Head & The Heart, Neil Young, Maggie Rogers, Coldplay, and Brandi Carlile. He hopes you'll join him for a show sometime soon!
