    THREATS
    Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible, Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible, A tornado or two possible
    SITUATION
    Scattered thunderstorms will continue to increase in coverage and intensity overnight as they moved southeastward regionally. Large hail will the most common concern overnight, although damaging wind potential could increase toward dawn and beyond if storms begin to cluster and organize. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 80 statute miles north and south of a line from 80 miles west of International Falls MN to 15 miles south southeast of Iron Mountain MI.     PRECAUTIONS
    A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes.

    SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR
    West central Cook County in northeastern Minnesota... East central St. Louis County in northeastern Minnesota... Northern Lake County in northeastern Minnesota... * Until 615 AM CDT. * At 521 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Burntside Lake, or 7 miles northwest of Ely, moving southeast at 35 mph.
    HAZARD
    60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

    IMPACT
    Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
    THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL BE NEAR
    Ely and Burntside Lake around 525 AM CDT. Winton and Fall Lake around 530 AM CDT. White Iron Lake and southern Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness around 535 AM CDT. Other locations in the path of this severe thunderstorm include Birch Lake.
